RELIGIOUS HAND FANS FEATURES:
Our Religious Hand Fans and Church Hand Fans are printed on 16 point C1S coated board stock for one sided printing with the finest lithographic techniques. For excellent color matching, all two sided religious handfans and church handfans are printed on C2S board stock. All churchfans are made with a 8" basswood handle, which is adhered with adhesive to the back.
Birth of Church Handfans
Where did Church Handfans originate from? Some say it all started in a Baptist church in the deep south way back in the early 1800's. Celing fans were not even invented then and the only way to cool off was to open a window and pray for a cool breeze. traditional baptist dress code was and still is conservative, so it could get uncomfortably warm during those hot summer days. Church Hand Fans were invented so a person could quietly and gently fan themselves with a back and forth motion without disturbing or distracting others around them.
Back in the day Church Handfans were decorated with floral patterns and not used for advertising purposes. Things have changed quite a bit since then and now you can find Religious and Church Hand Fans imprinted with images of Jesus, the Last Supper, praying hands, your church logo, building, mission statement, outreach ministry or fundraising information.
